Nifty Metal index closed up 5.74% at 5618.7 today. The index is up 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Coal India Ltd gained 8.97%, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd rose 8.10% and Steel Authority of India Ltd added 7.76%. The Nifty Metal index is up 43.00% over last one year compared to the 10.34% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index added 5.34% and Nifty PSU Bank index gained 4.69% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 2.53% to close at 16658.4 while the SENSEX added 2.44% to close at 55858.52 today.
