Sensex and Nifty in Green on December 4, 2024

Indian equity markets are in the positive side today with Sensex and Nifty trading with some positive movements. At the time of writing, 2:21 p.m. of Dec 4, 2024, Sensex stood at 80,969 and showed an increase of 0.15% or +123 points over its last closing value. Nifty trades at 24,472 after gaining 0.06% or +15 points over its last closing value.

On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), there are 1,558 stocks that have gone up, while 910 have declined. On Sensex, HDFC Bank, TCS, NTPC, and Bajaj Finserv are the key gainers, with PowerGrid Corp, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, and Adani Ports as the biggest losers. Notably, HDFC Bank and Tech Mahindra have hit their Sensex 52-week highs.

HDFC Life, HDFC Bank, Apollo Hospital, and NTPC are the major gainers in Nifty. Conversely, Cipla, Bharti Airtel, PowerGrid Corp, and Tata Motors top the list of losers in Nifty. Similarly, HDFC Bank and Tech Mahindra have reached their 52-week highs in Nifty as they have done in Sensex. In the broader market, BSE Small Cap is up by 0.54%, while BSE Midcap is up by 0.67% and is showing a positive sentiment about mid and small-cap stocks.
