Sensex and Nifty in Green on December 5, 2024

Today, December 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM, the Indian Benchmark Index Sensex and Nifty are trading in green. As of 1:00 pm, the Sensex is trading at  81,440, which is at a 0.60% gain above its last close or 484 points higher. Nifty is trading at 24,590-which is a 0.50% move above its last close or 123 points higher. On the National Stock Exchange, 1292 stocks advance while 1163 stock declines.

Among the Indian Benchmark Index Sensex, Titan Company, TCS, Infosys, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finance, and Tech Mahindra are the top gainers. Among the losers were NTPC, Nestle, Asian Paints, Maruti Suzuki, JSW Steel, and Tata Motors. Both Tech Mahindra and HDFC Bank have hit 52-week highs, which mark a significant milestone in retaining investor confidence in these stocks.

The Indian Benchmark Index Nifty’s strong performances include Titan Company, Infosys, TCS, Dr. Reddy’s Labs, Bharti Airtel, and Wipro. Meanwhile, stocks like Bajaj Auto, SBI Life Insurance, NTPC, Cipla, HDFC Life, and Nestle. Also, it should be noted that Wipro, Tech Mahindra, and HDFC Bank also achieved their 52-week highs this session. The broader markets have shown average gains. In the broader market, The BSE Mid Cap Index up by 0.043%, while the BSE Small Cap Index gained 0.12%, showing a steady performance in these segments.
