Sensex and Nifty in Green on May 23, 2025

The Indian Benchmark Index Sensex and Nifty are trading in green zone on May 23, 2025. At 2:00 pm, Sensex is at 81,787 (1.03%), up 835 points from the last close. The Nifty is up 266 points at 24,876 (1.08%).

On the NSE, there were 1604 advancing shares as against 922 shares, and 225 shares remained unchanged. Out of Nifty 50 stocks, 48 stocks are trading in green and 2 are trading in red.

The top gainers in the Sensex pack were Eternal, ITC, Power Grid Corp, and Bajaj Finserv. Sun Pharma, Zee Ent., Vedanta and IndusInd Bank were among top losers in the Sensex pack.

In the Nifty pack, HDFC Life, Jio Financial, ITC were the top gainers. Prominent losers in the Nifty pack are Sun Pharma and Grasim. Bharat Elec, HDFC Life hit 52-week high in Nifty.

On the broader market front, the BSE Midcap index is up 0.52%, while the BSE Smallcap Index is up 0.55% to the previous close.
