Sensex and Nifty in Green on May 5, 2025

The Indian Benchmark Index Sensex and Nifty is trading in green on May 5, 2025. At 1:09 pm, Sensex is trading at 80,798 (0.37%), a 296 points gain over the previous close. Nifty is trading at 24,464 (0.49%), a 118 point gain from the last close.  In the National Stock Exchange, 1798 shares advances and 751 stocks declines. In Nifty 50, 39 stocks are trading in green, and 11 stocks are trading in red.

In Sensex, Adani Ports, Bajaj FinServ, M&M, Eterna are the top gainers. Top losers in Sensex include Kotak Mahindra, SBI, Axis bank, IndusInd Bank.  In Nifty, Adani Enterpris, Adani Ports, Trent, Shriram Finance are the top gainers. Top losers in Nifty include Kotak Mahindra, INGC, Dr Reddy’s Labs, SBI. ICICI Bank is the only stock that hits 52-week high in Nifty.

In the broader market, the BSE Midcap index trades at a 1.10% dip, whereas the BSE Small cap Index trades at a 0.87% gain to the previous close.
