SIS appoints Uday Singh as Independent Director on board; stock dips ~1%

SIS Limited informed that based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, recommended the appointment of Uday Singh as an Independent Director on the Board of the company for a period of 5 consecutive years.

His appointment will be effective from July 26, 2022, subject to the approval of shareholders in the ensuing Annual General Meeting.

Uday Singh is currently appointed as Non-executive Director on the Company’s board. He joined the company in 2002 and has served as CEO since 2004, as well as Whole-Time Director and CEO from August 2012 to April 2018. Following that, he will serve on the board in a non-executive capacity.

He brings in over 43 years of management experience and has previously worked for Metallurgical & Engineering Consultants (India) Limited, Jindal Vijaynagar Steel Ltd., and Praxair Carbon Dioxide Private Limited.

He is currently a Director and Angel Investor in two Bangalore-based start-up companies.

He has a bachelor’s degree in Science (electrical engineering) from Birla Institute of Technology – Mesra in Ranchi, as well as a postgraduate diploma in management from Brilliant’s School of Management in Chennai.

At around 2.08 PM, SIS Ltd was trading at Rs445.65 down by Rs5.85 or 1.3% from its previous closing of Rs451.50 on the BSE. The scrip touched intraday high and low of Rs451.65 and Rs444.90 respectively.
