According to news reports, SpiceJet Ltd., the Indian airline already under the scrutiny of local regulators, experienced another technical problem during a flight to Dubai.
The aircraft, a Boeing Co. 737 next-generation jet that is seven years old, had flown on Monday from India to Dubai when it was discovered after landing that it had a technical problem with its nose wheel, according to the reports.
All passengers and crew safely disembarked after the incident, according to the people.
In a statement to Bloomberg News, SpiceJet denied there had been any incident or safety concern and attributed the ensuing delay leaving Dubai to a last-minute technical problem.
After being given three weeks earlier this month by India’s aviation regulator to justify why no action should be taken against it following a string of other incidents, including one in which a Boeing 737 Max plane was diverted to Karachi due to an indicator light malfunction, pressure is mounting on SpiceJet.
According to a poll of more than 21,000 travellers by LocalCircle, the flaws have caused some travellers to steer clear of the cash-strapped airline.
