Swaminathan Janakiraman Resigns from SBI Life, Appointed as RBI Deputy Governor

Swaminathan Janakiraman, the nominee director representing the State Bank of India (SBI), has resigned from his position as a director of SBI Life Insurance Company. The resignation came into effect on June 26, 2023.

SBI Life Insurance Company made an official announcement regarding Janakiraman’s resignation through a notification on June 26, 2023.

The reason behind Janakiraman’s resignation is his recent appointment as Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Janakiraman’s departure from the board of directors of SBI Life comes as a result of his new role and responsibilities at the RBI.
