The Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) has granted Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power-DDL) a three-year extension until 2026 for its in-house R&D unit.
Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd is a joint venture between Tata Power and the government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. While DSIR is part of the Government of India’s Ministry of Science and Technology.
Tata Power-DDL said in a statement on Wednesday that the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) has renewed recognition for its smart grid lab as the ‘in-house research and development (R&D) unit’ for the next three years.
This designation as an R&D unit has been extended for three years, till March 31, 2026.
The smart grid lab, located in Rohini, Delhi, was first acknowledged as an ‘in-house R&D unit’ in 2021, following a rigorous evaluation procedure on numerous metrics including new processes and products, collaborations, R&D-related infrastructure, equipment prices, and patents submitted for and granted.
