TCS, India’s largest software company, initiates a significant operating structure change under CEO K Krithivasan’s leadership, marking his first major move since assuming the position on June 1.
The senior leadership at TCS experiences a rejig with the addition of several new senior executives, global heads, and veterans who have served 18-30 years with the company.
After discussions with customers and associates, TCS announces a new operating structure that focuses on synergizing domain and contextual knowledge across units to deliver enhanced value to customers.
The revamped structure regroups existing Industry Solutions Units (ISUs) into key business groups based on industry segments, with an aim to deepen customer centricity, which is crucial for the company’s growth.
TCS’ new operating structure includes the following business groups:
All ISU Heads will report to the respective business group heads without any changes to the ISU structure, and all RIG (relationship incubation group) accounts will be moved under the appropriate ISUs.
Additionally, TCS establishes the Enterprise CBO (cognitive business practices) unit, which will focus on enterprise functions such as Finance & Accounting (F&A), HR, and procurement. This unit will also oversee the TCS Cognix platform and be led by Ashok Pai.
TCS forms another unit called TCS AI Cloud, which consolidates all public cloud units and AI initiatives. This unit will be led by Siva Ganesan, with Krishna Mohan serving as the Deputy Head. The roles of CTO and CMO will be filled by Harrick Vin and Abhinav Kumar, respectively.
These changes are set to take effect from August 1 and will directly report to CEO Krithivasan, who emphasizes that the restructured organization will enhance customer centricity amid uncertain demand conditions.
CEO Krithivasan had initially excluded the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) vertical from the previous structure, which constitutes a significant portion (35-40 percent) of TCS’ overall revenue.
