On Wednesday, Vedanta Ltd. announced that it had been selected as the preferred bidder for an Odisha bauxite block. In the Odisha districts of Rayagada and Kalahandi is the Sijimali bauxite block.
Vedanta Ltd. stated in a statement to the BSE that it has been chosen as the preferred bidder for the Sijimali bauxite block during the mineral block auction held by the government of Odisha.
Given its size, location, and bauxite grade, the project is a strategic fit for Vedanta, according to the business, which also noted that the block has an estimated 311 million tonnes of bauxite deposits.
