The benchmark indices concluded on a negative trajectory in a day marked by volatility on November 9, with Nifty settling around the 19,400 mark. The Sensex was down by 143.41 points or 0.22%, closing at 64,832.20, while the Nifty observed a dip of 48.20 points or 0.25%, reaching 19,395.30. Among the listed stocks, 1588 advanced, 1979 declined, and 123 remained unchanged.
Adani Enterprises, HUL, Tata Consumer Products, Adani Ports, and Tech Mahindra were among the top losers on the Nifty. On the upside, M&M, Apollo Hospitals, Coal India, Hero MotoCorp, and Power Grid Corporation secured gains.
A mixed trend was observed across sectors; realty and auto indices experienced a 1% increase, while Oil & Gas, FMCG, and Information Technology indices witnessed a 0.5% decline.
The BSE Midcap index concluded the day on a neutral note, while the Smallcap index recorded a 0.25% decrease.
