The institute invited two ‘SOS Mothers’ to honour them for their unsurpassed contribution towards the welfare of the society.

To further the existence of women in our country, Asia-Pacific Institute of Management, Delhi, organised a Seminar titled "Celebrating the Women Power" on ‘International Women's Day’. The institute invited two ‘SOS Mothers’ to honour them for their unsurpassed contribution towards the welfare of the society. Children from ‘SOS Children’s Villages of India’ – an independent, non-governmental, social development organization, were a part of this seminar.

SOS Children's Villages provides family-based care for abandoned and parentless children in India. The SOS team helped to not only commemorate the significance of women but also infused the atmosphere with warmth and innocence on this special occasion.

International Women’s day is celebrated worldwide. It is also believed that “a woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform.” Nowadays, women have become the foundation of not only a family but also the whole society. That time is gone, when women were only restricted to performing the role of a homemaker, they have now stepped out and taken the responsibilities of a working professional very well. With the number of working women increasing day by day, problems and limitations are also increasing simultaneously. It is very important to empower them to uplift their status in the society.

Expressing his happiness on the occassion, Mr. Rakesh Jinsi, Secretary General, SOS Children’s Villages of India, said, “It was certainly an honour for our mothers to be a part of the Asia Pacific Institute of Management seminar throwing light upon Women Power on the occasion of ‘International Women's Day’. It is a woman who holds a family together, nurtures it and is responsible for shaping the lives of an entire generation. In SOS Children’s villages, the mothers do play a pivotal role in enabling our children to lead fulfilling lives. Most of them have spent their entire lives dedicated to the organization.
