Grasim Industries successfully commissions projects at Rehla and Balabhadrapuram; Stock trades higher

The company has commissioned the second phase of the expansion project at Rehla and Phase-I of the project (70 TPD Caustic Soda Lye) at Balabhadrapuram.

Grasim Industries Limited has successfully commissioned the projects at the Rehla - Caustic Expansion Project and Balabhadrapuram - Commencement of Caustic production.

At around 9.35 am, Grasim Industries Ltd was trading at Rs1,630.85 per piece up by Rs27.9 or 1.74% from its previous closing of Rs1,602.95 per piece on the BSE.

The company said that the ongoing expansion project at Rehla has been completed and the company has successfully commissioned the second phase of the expansion project at Rehla (80 TPD Caustic Soda Lye), taking the overall Caustic Soda Lye capacity of Rehla Unit to 550 TPD.

The company had acquired the stalled Chlor Alkali Project of 200 TPD in the year 2019 from KPR Industries (India) Ltd situated at Balabhadrapuram, Andhra Pradesh. With systematic investments, the company is in the process of increasing the capacity at Balabhadrapuram unit to 400 TPD of caustic soda and three value added chlorine derivatives.

The company has now successfully commissioned Phase-I of the project (70 TPD Caustic Soda Lye) at Balabhadrapuram and it is in ramp up phase.
