India's merchandise exports at $27.67B in February 2021, imports rise to $40.55B

India is thus a net importer in February 2021, with a trade deficit of $12.88B.

India's merchandise exports stood at $27.67 billion in February 2021, compared to $27.74 billion in February 2020, a decrease of 0.25%. Between April-February 2020-21, exports were $255.92 billion, as compared to $291.87 billion during the same period of last year, exhibiting a negative growth of 12.32%.

As per the Ministry of Commerce & Industry data, India’s merchandise imports in February 2021were $40.55 billion, as compared to $37.90 billion in February 2020, an increase of 6.98%.

Merchandise imports during April-February 2020-21 were $340.88 billion, as compared to $443.24 billion during the same period of last year, exhibiting a negative growth of 23.09%.

That said, India is thus a net importer in February 2021, with a trade deficit of $12.88 billion, as compared to a trade deficit of $10.16 billion in February 2020, an improvement of 26.74%.
