20 Jan 2022 , 10:57 AM

Wipro

On Thursday, Wipro announced that it has been recognized by the Top Employers Institute as a top employer in Europe. Wipro applied for such certification in Europe for the first time in which it placed fifth competing with over 1800 companies around the world.

Additionally, Wipro also bagged certification in France with second position, Switzerland (3rd position), the Netherlands (4th), Germany (5th), and the UK (5 th), with scores of over 95% in each region. Wipro thrived in most categories but significantly outperformed the benchmark in the Career, Diversity and Inclusion, Work Environment, and Digital HR categories.

Pierre Bruno, CEO, Europe, Wipro Limited said, “We are a company that takes pride in the experience of its people and it’s great to see that this has now been recognized. We want to empower our employees and support them as they build their careers, and this certification is recognition that we are on the right track.”

The Top Employers institute reviews submissions from companies around the world over several key HR parameters including Work Environment, People Strategy, Learning & Development, Talent acquisition, Wellbeing, and Diversity and Inclusion. The process is immense, making the entire process and certification highly prestigious in the field of human resources.

“Wipro has shown exceptional performance and that it is consistently focused on supporting its teams despite the challenges faced by the companies this year. This being the first year of assessing the Wipro’s European markets, the company has shown great commitment to putting people first that they have received such high rankings across each of the five markets,” said David Plink, CEO, Top Employers Institute.

Wipro took notable new initiatives, which contributed significantly to Wipro’s successful inclusion in this year’s list of certified companies. One of the most remarkable initiatives was the company’s use of technology to streamline processes, facilitate online training and learning, enable employees to work with greater autonomy throughout the pandemic, and offer support and empathy throughout the pandemic. Wipro’s prime strategy is to take care of the people & their well-being.

Wipro Ltd is currently trading at Rs617.30 down by Rs4 or 0.64% from its previous closing of Rs621.30 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs621 and has touched a high and low of Rs621.50 and Rs613.60 respectively.
