The price of a gram of yellow gold (24-carat) is selling at Rs 51,980 in early Monday trade (20-06-2022), unchanged from the previous day’s pricing. In the meantime, a gram of 22-carat gold costs Rs 47,650.
Silver, on the other hand, fell by Rs 100 in early trade on Monday, with the precious metal selling at Rs 60,900 per kilogram.
In Delhi, Kolkata, and Bangalore, a gram of 24-carat gold costs Rs 52,010. In Delhi, Kolkata, and Bangalore, a gram of 22-carat gold is selling for Rs 47,680. In Chennai, a gram of 24-carat gold costs Rs 52,090 while a gram of 22-carat gold costs Rs 47,750.
In Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata, silver is now trading for Rs 60,900 per kilogram. One kilogram of silver is now selling for Rs 66,300 in Chennai.
As of 02:03 GMT, spot gold was down 0.2 percent at $1,836.67 per ounce. Gold futures in the United States were unchanged at $1,840.00. Spot silver, meanwhile, slipped 0.7 percent to $21.49 per ounce.
The yellow metal ended the previous week with a loss, as a stronger US dollar and interest rate rises by major central banks dampened the attraction of zero-interest bullion.
However, the world’s largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, SPDR Gold Trust, reported a 1.1 percent increase in holdings to 1,075.54 tonnes on Friday, up from 1,063.94 tonnes the day before.
