A power purchase agreement (PPA) has been executed by Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL), a renewable energy firm, and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to deliver 1,799 MW of solar power.
The firm released a statement saying, ‘With the signing of this balance PPA, AGEL has completed the power offtake tie-up for the entire 8,000 MW manufacturing-linked solar tender awarded to it by SECI in June 2020.’
As a result, Adani Green now has 19.8 GW of tied PPAs, with the remaining merchant capacity in its 20.6 GW locked-in portfolio, according to the business.
CEO of Adani Green Energy Ltd. is Amit Singh. ‘Adani Green is dedicated to supporting the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision in addition to helping India achieve its decarbonisation goals.’
‘Adani Green is set to provide in excess of 45 GW renewable energy, a five-fold increase from our current operating portfolio. This is in line with India’s aim of 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. This strengthens our commitment to offering accessible and reasonably priced renewable energy,’ he continued.
