Ashok Leyland Triumphs with Order for 1,282 Buses from GSRTC, Boosting Indian Market Presence

Ashok Leyland secured a substantial order of 1,282 fully built buses from Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC), reinforcing its position in the Indian bus market. The order includes 55-seater BS VI diesel buses equipped with iGen6 technology, showcasing a powerful 147 kW (197 hp) H-series engine and a focus on passenger comfort.

Shenu Agarwal, Ashok Leyland’s MD & CEO, emphasized the company’s reputation for durability, robustness, and advanced technology, making them a preferred choice for both government and private customers.

Sanjeev Kumar, President – M&HCV, expressed excitement over this order from GSRTC, highlighting the long-standing partnership and the addition of 4,000 buses to the order book from State Transport Undertakings. The buses will adhere to stringent industry standards and feature Ashok Leyland’s in-house developed iGen6 BS VI OBD II technology.
