Bajaj Auto announced collaboration with Triumph Motorcycles of the United Kingdom to launch a new line of 400cc motorcycles. The launch is set for today, July 5, and these bikes are expected to have a significant impact in both the Indian and global markets.
Bajaj Auto intends to keep the price of these motorcycles under Rs 3 lakh, with an ex-showroom price of around Rs 2.5 lakh. This aggressive pricing strategy aims to make these powerful motorcycles more affordable to a broader range of customers.
Just prior to this, Bajaj Auto’s rival Hero MotoCorp announced the launch of X440 in association with Harley Davidson. It is available in India at a price tag of Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom).
In India and other global markets, Bajaj Auto will launch two Triumph Motorcycles models, the Triumph 400cc Roadster and the Scrambler.
Bajaj Auto has initially set up a production capacity of 5,000 Triumph motorcycles per month to meet the expected demand. If there is a high demand for these bikes in both domestic and export markets, the company is willing to increase production to 10,000 units per month.
Bookings for Triumph motorcycles in India will be available beginning July 5, with sales officially beginning on the same day.
At around 10.57 AM, Bajaj Auto was trading 0.72% higher at Rs 4,658.85 per piece, against the previous close of Rs 4,625.40 on NSE.
