Bajaj Auto Ltd has announced a 2% decrease in its total sales for the month of March. According to a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the total sales dropped to 2,91,567 units in March compared to 2,97,188 units during the same month in the previous year.
According to the filing, there was a significant increase of 47% in total domestic sales last month, which reached 1,86,522 units compared to 1,26,752 units in March 2022.
The filing also reported that there was a decline of 38% in exports, which dropped to 1,05,045 units in March, compared to 1,70,436 units in the same month of the previous year.
In March, the overall sales of two-wheelers were 2,47,002 units, which is a decrease of 4% compared to the same month last year when the sales were 2,56,324 units.
Despite a 51% y-o-y decrease in exports from 21,193 units in March of the previous year to 10,330 units last month, the commercial vehicle sales of Bajaj Auto Ltd increased by 9% to 44,565 units, compared to 40,864 units sold in March 2022.
According to Bajaj Auto Ltd, the total sales for the fiscal year 2022-23 decreased by 9% to 39,27,857 units, as compared to 43,08,433 units in 2021-22. Although exports dropped by 27%, there was a 17% increase in domestic sales.
