Basic materials shares edge higher

Among the components of the S&P BSE Basic Materials index, Fineotex Chemical Ltd (up 9.72%), Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd (up 6.48%),Steel Exchange India Ltd (up 4.83%),Hindalco Industries Ltd (up 4.04%),Seshasayee Paper & Boards Ltd (up 3.96%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Star Cement Ltd (up 3.8%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd (up 3.77%), JK Paper Ltd (up 3.62%), Bhansali Engineering Polymers Ltd (up 3.58%), and P I Industries Ltd (up 3.56%). On the other hand, Satia Industries Ltd (down 9.89%), Prism Johnson Ltd (down 2.09%), and Sahyadri Industries Ltd (down 2.09%) moved lower.At 09:46 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 290.16 or 0.5% at 58640.69.The Nifty 50 index was up 75.9 points or 0.44% at 17464.05.The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 274.12 points or 1% at 27745.91.The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 67.95 points or 0.79% at 8647.39.On BSE,1940 shares were trading in green, 707 were trading in red and 107 were unchanged.Powered by Capital Market – Live News
