Blue Star wins orders from BMRCL for Rs 390 cr

Reach-6 Bangalore Metro Rail Project Phase-II also known as the Pink Line, spans a distance of about 21 km, and connects Kalena Agrahara (formerly Gottigere) to Nagawara. The company said 18 metro stations are planned on this line. The first order is valued at Rs 203 crore and is a turnkey project including maintenance works for tunnel ventilation system (TVS) and environmental control system (ECS), as well as SCADA works for six underground stations and associated tunnel sections in Reach-6 of Bangalore Metro Rail Project Phase-II. The second order is valued at Rs 187 crore and is also a turnkey project for electrical & mechanical (E&M) works including hydraulics, fire safety systems, and backup power systems for five underground stations, associated tunnel sections, and five elevated stations in Reach-6 of Bangalore Metro Rail Project Phase-II. B Thiagarajan, managing director at Blue Star adds, ?We have, in the past, successfully executed several metro rail projects including Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore metro projects. With metro rails gaining significant traction for the overall public transport connectivity and infrastructure development of the country, I am happy that we are playing a crucial role and contributing our bit towards Indias infrastructure development.? Blue Star is an air-conditioning and commercial refrigeration company. The company conducts various activities, such as electrical, plumbing and fire-fighting services. Its segments include electro-mechanical projects and packaged air conditioning systems, and unitary products. On consolidated basis, the companys net profit surged to Rs 74.25 crore in Q1 FY23 from Rs 12.69 crore recorded in Q1 FY22. Consolidated net sales climbed 87.3% to Rs 1,970.32 crore in Q1 FY23 as against Rs 1,052.04 crore posted in the corresponding quarter previous year.
