Global sales of electric vehicles (EVs) doubled on the year in 2021 to a record 6.6 million and have remained strong this year thanks to sustained policy support, the IEA said in a latest update yesterday. Of global car sales in 2021, nearly 10% were EVs, the Paris-based energy watchdog said in its Global Electric Vehicle Outlook.
