Equity benchmark indices bounced back after a 1% decline the previous day, driven by positive global market trends.
Sensex gainers included NTPC, Tata Motors, JSW Steel, Tata Steel, SBI, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Industries Limited, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, and ITC. Laggards on Sensex were Infosys, Wipro, Asian Paints, HCL Technologies, Tata Consultancy Services, and Axis Bank.
Asian markets like Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong were trading positively. The US markets closed in the green on Thursday. Global oil benchmark Brent crude rose to USD 95.43 a barrel by a marginal 0.05%. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) sold equities worth Rs 3,364.22 crore on Thursday.
