ET Report: Tata Group may soon open 100 small exclusive Apple Stores

According to the Economic Times reports, the Tata Group intends to construct a few compact, exclusive Apple stores soon. These stores, which are anticipated to only offer Apple products, will be situated in shopping centres, residential neighbourhoods, and few other selected locations.

The Tata Group intends to establish similar little, exclusive Apple stores all around the nation. Apple is apparently working with Croma retail chain operator Infiniti Retail, which is owned by Tata, on this.

According to the news, Infiniti Retail would thereafter join Apple’s network of franchisees. These 100 tiny, specialized shops, which can be referred to as Apple Authorized Resellers, are anticipated to have 500—600 square feet of space apiece. They will be distinct from and smaller than Apple Premium Reseller outlets, which typically have square footage of 1,000 sq. Ft.

As the larger stores will sell MacBooks and the whole Apple line, it is also anticipated that these modest 100 exclusive boutiques will concentrate mostly on selling iPads, iPhones, and watches. More information won’t be available, though, until the idea really materializes.

According to the ET report, there are already 160 Apple Premium Reseller locations in India. This relationship between Apple and Tata comes as Apple prepares to open its first company-owned flagship shop in Mumbai soon.

With this action, the Tata Group continues to expand its portfolio of business ventures and relationships. Following the announcement of Air India’s merger with Vistara, the group recently gained media attention. Additionally, the firm apparently intends to begin producing semiconductor chips in India.
