In Chennai and Kolkata, the prices for gasoline and diesel, respectively, are Rs102.63 and Rs94.24 and Rs106.03 and Rs92.76.
According to reports, oil marketing businesses lose Rs13.08 on each liter of gasoline and Rs 24.09 on each liter of diesel. India imports the majority of the gasoline it needs. As per the government announcement, the windfall tax has increased on petroleum crude and decreased on diesel and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) exports.
