On August 15, HCL Tech announced that Cricket Australia (CA) selected the IT services firm for its next phase of digital transformation. The news comes less than a week after the company struck a $2.1 billion contract with Verizon Business.
These recent acquisitions and renewal announcements come on the heels of HCL Tech’s flat Q1FY24 results release last month. C Vijayakumar, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, stated that the company anticipates a solid deal pipeline in the coming quarters.
HCL Tech will assist CA in providing engaging digital experiences to fans, players, and partners worldwide under this contract. For Cricket Australia Live and PlayCricket apps, it will also provide automation, analytics, including AI and ML, and DevOps.
Since 2019, Cricket Australia has been a customer of HCL Tech for digital transformation.
HCL Tech has already helped to digitize and streamline several of CA’s community cricket processes, including cricket.com.au, the Cricket Australia Live app, and MyCricket (now PlayCricket). The collaboration has also aided CA’s live app in becoming Australia’s No. 1 summer sporting application, with over 100 million yearly sessions.
At around 1.50 PM, HCLTech was trading 0.29% higher at Rs 1,174.40 per piece, against the previous close of Rs 1,171 on NSE. The counter touched an intraday high and low of Rs 1,186.25 and Rs 1,170.10, respectively.
