The Union Minister of State for Textiles, Darshana Jardosh in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha informed that the Centre has taken cognizance of the potential for boosting exports of Indian textiles in view of a large global market.
From April to October, 2022 the textile exports from India has touched USD 21.15 billion so far, said Union MoS for Textiles,
During the last financial year the total Textiles & Apparel exports including Handicrafts stood at USD 44.44 billion.
The financial year of 2019-20 and 2020-21 saw falling of textile exports as the record dropped from USD 35.18 billion to USD 31.59 billion, respectively.
Textile exports during 2017-18 and 2018-19 registered growth of USD 37.55 billion and USD 38.40 billion, separately.
Earlier, this month, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal said that the Government targets to achieve US$ 100 Billion export for textile products by 2030.
