Indian equity markets end the day in red

Indian equity markets ended the day in red today. The markets saw some buying demand too along with selling pressure.  Nifty 50 closed, down by 43.05 points. Sensex closed, down by 139.18 points. Top Gainers today were Hindalco, Coal India, Axis Bank. Top Losers today were Asian Paint, L&T, Titan. 

Buying demand was seen in some small-cap and micro-cap stocks today.  Selling pressure was seen in media stocks and realty stocks. Zee Entertainment’s stock came under selling pressure after NCLT admitted IndusInd Bank’s plea for initiating insolvency proceedings against the company. 

Idea, Zomato and Zee Entertainment were the most traded stocks today at NSE in terms of trading volume. HDFC Bank, Zee Entertainment, and Adani Enterprises were the most traded stocks at NSE, in terms of value. 19 stocks touched new 52- week high today at NSE. 191 stocks touched new 52-week low. Market breadth was negative.
