Indian equity markets ended the day in red today. Gains of the early session got wiped off in the last 2 hours. Nifty 50 closed, down by 71.15 points. Sensex closed, down by 344.29 points. Top Gainers today were Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Asian Paints. Top Losers today were Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank, Reliance.
Selling pressure was seen in some large cap stocks. Buying demand was seen in some small cap stocks. Banking stocks again came under selling pressure. Metal stocks gained. Consumer durable stocks also saw some buying demand.
Yes Bank, Suzlon and Idea were the most active stocks today at NSE, in terms of trading volume. HDFC Bank, Reliance and Adani Enterprises were the most active stocks in terms of value. 22 stocks touched new 52-week high today at NSE. 181 stocks touched new 52-week low. Market breadth was negative.
