Indian equity markets saw selling pressure dominate today. Markets had opened in green today on the back of positive global cues. But soon the gains were given away due to selling pressure. Nifty 50 closed, down by 51.80 points. Sensex closed, down by 128.90 points. Top Gainers today were Bajaj Finance, Bharti Airtel, Kotak Bank. Top Losers today were Divi’s Lab, Adani Ports, ITC.
Buying demand was seen only in some micro-cap stocks. All the broader market indices, except for Nifty Microcap 250 index, ended the day in red. FMCG stocks, Pharma stocks, Realty stocks, Oil & Gas stocks came under selling pressure. Selling was seen in ITC’s stock before its March quarter result, which is due today.
Suzlon, BCG and Yes Bank were the most traded stocks today at NSE, in terms of volume. HDFC Bank, State Bank, and ICICI Bank were the most traded stocks today, in terms of value. 86 stocks touched new 52-week high today at NSE. 15 stocks touched new 52-week low.
