In a session characterized by high volatility, the benchmark indices concluded the trading day with minimal changes on September 25.
Closing figures showed that the Sensex inched up by a mere 14.54 points, equivalent to a 0.02% gain, settling at 66,023.69. Meanwhile, the Nifty made a slight upward movement of 0.20 points, closing at 19,674.50. Among the stocks in focus, 1817 recorded gains, 1835 experienced declines, and 161 remained unchanged.
Leading the way among Nifty gainers were Bajaj Finance, Tata Consumer Products, Apollo Hospitals, Bajaj Finserv, and Coal India. Conversely, the list of losers included Hindalco Industries, SBI Life Insurance, Hero MotoCorp, Infosys, and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories.
In terms of sectoral performance, the realty index showed significant growth, surging by 1.5%, while the bank index exhibited a modest increase of 0.3%. However, the Information Technology index faced a setback, declining by 0.7%, and the capital goods index dipped by 0.3%.
In the midcap segment, the BSE midcap index saw a rise of 0.40%, whereas the Smallcap index ended the day with minimal change. Overall, the trading session on September 25 was marked by subdued market activity and a lack of significant directional movement.
