Indian Markets Open Lackluster, Sensex Subdued

Indian stock markets open on a lackluster note, with Sensex subdued due to cuts in index heavyweights TCS and HDFC Bank. Nifty IT and media each record losses exceeding 1%, while all broader market indices trade in the red.

Sensex, at the time of writing, stands at Rs 71,466, reflecting a 0.21% increase from the previous close. Nifty is trading at Rs 21,453, up by 0.15% from the previous day’s close.

Top gainers today include IRCTC (4.14%), Nestle (3.90%), Delta Corp (3.56%), and Voltas (2.94%). Top losers feature Zee Entertainment (-3.46%), L&T Technology (-2.89%), SAIL (-2.73%), and Siemens (-2.67%).
