Indices End Lower on November 1; Nifty Dips Below 19,000 Mark

On November 1, benchmark indices closed lower for the second consecutive session, with the Nifty slipping below the 19,000 mark. The Sensex ended the day down by 283.60 points or 0.44% at 63,591.33, while the Nifty declined by 90.40 points or 0.47% at 18,989.20.

Market movement showcased 1549 advancing shares, 1892 declining shares, and 129 unchanged shares.

Among the top losers on the Nifty were Adani Enterprises, Coal India, Adani Ports, SBI Life Insurance, and Asian Paints. Conversely, gainers included Sun Pharma, BPCL, HDFC Life, Tata Consumer Products, and Reliance Industries.

With the exception of the healthcare, oil & gas, and realty sectors, all other sectoral indices closed in the red. The auto, capital goods, metal, Information Technology, and power sectors witnessed declines ranging between 0.5% to 1.5% each.

The BSE midcap index recorded a 0.4% decrease, while the smallcap index concluded the session on a relatively neutral note.
