IndiGo, India’s largest domestic airline, is rapidly expanding internationally, with the goal of becoming one of the country’s largest international airlines.
IndiGo has designated Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, as its 27th international destination and the 105th destination overall on the 6E network.
Starting from August 5, 2023, IndiGo will commence accepting bookings for daily direct flights connecting Mumbai, India’s major financial hub, with Nairobi, the largest city in Kenya. IndiGo’s entry into the African subcontinent through this new flight route marks a significant milestone for the airline and presents a range of advantages for both corporate and leisure passengers.
The inaugural IndiGo flight 6E 1853 will depart Mumbai at 06:10 and arrive in Nairobi at 09:40 on August 5, 2023. The return flight, 6E 1854, departs Nairobi at 10:40 and arrives in Mumbai at 19:25. The regular flight operations will begin on August 6, 2023 at 02.10 from Mumbai and will arrive in Nairobi at 5.40. The flight will depart Nairobi at 6.40 a.m. and arrive in Mumbai at 15.25 a.m.
Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, is well-known for its magnificent safaris and rich heritage. Visitors can visit the Karen Blixen Museum or get up close and personal with graceful giraffes at the Giraffe Centre. There are black rhinos in Nairobi National Park, as well as Karura Forest and Samburu National Park.
Kenya is IndiGo’s first location in Sub-Saharan Africa, and it includes Lakelands, Savannah, and mountain highlands.
