Sun Pharma reported an ‘information security incident’ on Thursday and said it is investigating the matter. The impacted IT assets, according to the Mumbai-based company, have been isolated.
Sun Pharma has notified through a regulatory filing that an incident related to information security has taken place, resulting in the isolation of the affected IT assets.
The company further said that the incident has not impacted the company’s core systems and operations.
The drug maker stated in its filing with the bourses that, “the matter is under investigation and appropriate containment and remediation actions are being taken by the company in a controlled manner to tackle the incident.”
Other drug makers, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories and Lupin both reported cyber security breaches in 2020.
At around 10.05 AM, Sun Pharma was trading 0.27% lower at Rs962.65, against the previous close of Rs965.30 on NSE. The counter touched an intraday high and low of Rs968.75 and Rs960 respectively.
