The NCDEX Jeera futures slipped yesterday on profit selling but have resumed the upward movement amid sowing concerns. The market is focusing on the fact that ongoing sowing activities in Gujarat that have been delayed somewhat due to untimely rainfall. The export demand has been lax in recent months, keeping a lid on prices. The commodity is averaging around Rs 24000 per quintal in spot markets in last three months. Prices are up around 60% compared to last year though. The NCDEX Jeera futures are trading at Rs 24860 per quintal, up 0.69% on the day after hitting a high of Rs 24940 per quintal.
