Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced that it has been involved with India’s Space Programme for over 5 decades now. L&T is an important player in the launch of the LVM3 M4 Chandrayaan Mission.
L&T has been actively engaged in this mission from subsystem manufacturing to mission tracking, which is a landmark achievement, said the company.
The critical booster segments with a diameter of 3.2 metres, namely the head end segment, middle segment, and nozzle bucket flange, were manufactured and proof pressure tested at L&T’s Powai facility.
Among other contributions, L&T’s advanced Aerospace Manufacturing Facility in Coimbatore has provided ground and flight umbilical plates for the mission. Additionally, L&T has been instrumental in integrating the Launch Vehicle for the Indian Space Programme.
L&T’s high-tech Aerospace Manufacturing Facility manufactured the space hardware, meeting India’s third Moon mission’s stringent quality and timeline requirements. All of these subsystems were completed ahead of schedule, stated the company on Thursday.
As a longstanding partner of ISRO, L&T has been engaged in manufacturing various hardware components for numerous missions, including renowned projects such as Chandrayaan-1 and 2, Gaganyaan, and Mangalyaan.
