Domestic equity markets ended today’s session on a flat note after a day full of volatility. Nifty 50 closed 16 points lower. Sensex ended with a downside of 68 points.
In today’s trade, markets were in positive territory at the time of opening, however, soon it erased the early morning gains.
Nifty IT index closed with an uptick of 1%. Nifty Metal and Pharma closed in green. All other sectoral indices ended today’s session on a negative note.
Coal India, NTPC, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, and LTI Mindtree were the biggest gainers in today’s trade, restricting the downfall in the overall markets. Power Grid, Hero MotoCorp, Apollo Hospital, Adani Ports, and Bajaj Finserv were today’s top losers on nifty.
Most active stocks in terms of value were HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, NTPC, Maruti Suzuki, and Reliance. In terms of volume, top stocks were NTPC, Tata Steel, Power Grid, Coal India, and HDFC Bank.
A total of 229 stocks touched new 52-week highs in today’s trade, and 12 stocks plunged to 52-week lows.
