Indian stock markets closed today’s session with gains after trading flat for almost half of the day. Nifty 50 closed 42 points higher. Sensex ended with an upside of 195 points.
In today’s trade, markets made a sparkling debut, following which the rhythm was dim. However, in the last trading hour, markets ramped up to close with gains. Sensex touched its all-time high in today’s session, after which it lost about 80 points. Nifty is still to reach an all-time high.
Sectoral indices closed mostly with gains. FMCG, Realty, and Metal stocks ended with a decline. India’s VIX was 1.43% higher.
Gainer’s chart was led by Power Grid, ONGC, Adani Ports, HDFC Bank, and HDFC. JSW Steel was the top laggard, joined by Hindalco, Divis Lab, Mahindra & Mahindra, and ITC.
Most active stocks in terms of value were HDFC Bank, Adani Enterprises, HDFC, ICICI Bank, and SBI. In terms of volume, most active stocks were Tata Steel, Power Grid, SBI, HDFC Bank, and Adani Ports.
A total of 156 stocks rose to new 52-week highs in today’s trade, while 13 stocks slipped to 52-week lows.
