Indian equity markets ended in green on the 2nd trading day of the year too. Nifty 50 ended, up by 35.10 points. Sensex ended, up by 126.41 points. Top Gainers today were HDFC Life, SBI Life and Axis Bank. Top Losers today were Hindalco, JSW Steel, and Britannia.
Buying demand was seen in stocks across market capitalization categories. Profit booking was seen in some auto stocks, media stocks, and metal stocks. Buying demand was again strong among some consumer durables stocks.
Yes Bank, South Indian Bank and Suzlon were the most active stocks today, in terms of volume. Reliance, Tata Steel, and Yes Bank were the most traded stocks in terms of value. At NSE 64 stocks touched 52-week high today. 16 stocks touched 52- week low.
