Markets end the day in red today

Indian equity markets ended the day in red today. Markets remained in red through the entire day. Nifty 50 closed, down by 91.65 points. Sensex closed, down by 316.94 points. Top Gainers today were Larsen & Toubro, Ultratech Cement and BPCL. Top Losers today were Adani Enterprises, Nestle India and IndusInd Bank. 

All the broader indices ended the day in red today. Strong selling pressure was seen in many mid-cap stocks . Profit booking took place in IT stocks. Heavy selling pressure was also seen in many banking stocks. Profit booking also took place in many realty, pharma and healthcare stocks.

Idea, Suzlon, and Yes Bank were the most traded stocks today at NSE, in terms of volume. Reliance, HAL and Adani Enterprises were the most traded stocks in terms of value. 36 stocks today touched new 52-week high at NSE. 98 stocks touched new 52-week low.
