Markets end the day in Red with Nifty below 18,000 points

Domestic equity markets ended the day on a dim note with Nifty closing at 17,914 points. The markets kept a flat momentum throughout the day. BSE Sensex closed 631 points lower at 60,115.48 points.

All sectoral indices ended the day on a flat note except for Nifty Auto (+0.28%), which ended the day with a marginal uptick. Nifty Bank & Financial Services remained the top laggard with nearly a 2% downside.

Tata Motors (+5.92%) emerged as the top gainer on Nifty following a decent growth in its Q3 wholesale volumes. Apollo Hospitals (+1.46%), and Hindalco (+1.38%) joined the rally with nearly 1.5% gains. Power Grid (+1.32%) and Divis Lab (+1.23%) also closed on a positive side.

Adani Enterprises (-5.67%) was the top loser on NSE today with nearly a 6% downside. Bharti Airtel (-2.98%), Eicher Motors (-2.84%), and Adani Ports (-2.65%) dragged down the chart further. SBI also ended the day with a 2% downside.

About 17 shares advanced during the day, while 33 recorded a decline.
