Indian stock markets may see another positive day after yesterday’s volatile session. Yesterday, markets closed with marginal gains. Nifty 50 closed at 19,355.90. Sensex ended at 65,344.
Globally, US markets closed higher ahead of earnings to be released this week. Dow Jones closed 209 points higher. Nasdaq ended with a gain of 25 points. S&P 500 finished 11 points higher.
Asian peers are in an upward trend today as investors expect Fed to end interest rate hikes. Chinese Shanghai Composite was trading 0.36% higher. Hong Kong’s Heng Seng was up by 1.55%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 closed 0.28% higher. Taiwan index was trading with a 1.15% gain. South Korean ‘Kospi’ was 1.34% higher.
Nifty Bank closed 0.14% lower. Nifty Midcap 50 was down by 0.28%.
Yesterday, top gainers were Reliance, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Bharti Airtel, and HDFC Life. Top laggards were HCL Tech, Titan, Power Grid, TCS, and Hindustan Unilever.
Oil prices were higher in today’s trade, recovering from some of the losses of previous sessions. The Indian rupee was 2 paise higher versus the US dollar at 82.59/$.
