Markets may be in red

20 Jun 2023 , 09:19 AM

Indian stock markets may witness a day with declines today. Yesterday, markets closed in the red territory.

Globally, US markets ended on a dim note. Dow Jones closed 109 points lower. Nasdaq ended the day with a decline of 93 points. S&P 500 closed lower by 16 points.

Asian stock markets reflect mixed cues as investors are cautious of China’s modest rate hike. Chinese Shanghai Composite fell 0.24%. Hong Kong’s Heng Seng is down by 1.42%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 closed 0.62% lower. Taiwan index is trading with a decline of 0.48%. South Korean ‘Kospi’ is trading 0.24% lower.

In yesterday’s trade, gainers were led by HDFC Life, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Tech Mahindra, and TCS. Adani Enterprises, Hero MotoCorp, Kotak Bank, Adani Ports, and Axis Bank were the top losers.

Nifty Midcap 50 closed marginally up. Nifty Bank ended closed 0.70% lower.

Oil prices are also giving mixed signals as investors eye China’s lending benchmarks decisions.
