Broader Indian markets may witness a positive day today. On Friday, markets closed higher owing to a breather to investors from the US debt ceiling bill.
Globally, US markets finished on a positive note on Friday. Dow Jones closed 700 points higher. Nasdaq ended 1.07% higher. S&P 500 closed higher by 61 points.
On Monday, Asian Equities are trading with gains in anticipation of a pause in the US Fed rate hike. Chinese Shanghai Composite closed higher by 0.19%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading with a gain of 0.33%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is up by 1.65%. Taiwan index is trading marginally higher by 0.30%. South Korean ‘Kospi’ is trading at 0.56%.
On Friday, the Indian benchmark index Nifty 50 ended 46 points higher. Nifty Bank closed 148 points higher. Hindalco, Hero MotoCorp, Apollo Hospitals, Tata Steel, and Maruti were the top gainers on NSE. On the losers’ chart were, Adani Enterprises, BPCL, HDFC Life, TCS, and Wipro.
Oil prices jumped 2% in today’s trading session as Saudi plans to deepen output cuts.
