Indian stock markets may start today’s session with flat numbers. Yesterday markets ended in a positive sentiment after a volatile trading session. Nifty 50 closed at 19,632. Sensex closed at 65,995.
Globally, US markets closed in a negative mood as investors look forward to inflation data. Dow Jones ended with a decline of 191 points. Nasdaq closed 162 points lower. S&P 500 ended down by 32 points.
Asian peers were trading in lower sentiments tracking the decline on Wall Street. Chinese Shanghai Composite was trading 0.13% lower. Hong Kong’s Heng Seng was down by 0.90%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 closed 0.42% higher. Taiwan index was trading 1.29% lower. South Korean Kospi index was trading 0.37% lower.
Nifty Midcap 50 stocks closed 0.50% higher. Nifty Bank was down by 0.19% in last session.
Top gainers on Wednesday were Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, JSW Steel, Hindalco, Tata Motors, and Mahindra & Mahindra. Biggest losers on the nifty pack were Divis Lab, Apollo Hospital, Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Finance, and Asian Paints.
Oil prices slipped in today’s early morning trade after hitting fresh highs in previous session. The Indian rupee closed 6 paise lower to 82.85 against the greenback.
