Indian equity markets started the day in red today. But they recovered soon and were in green for much of the day. Nifty 50 ended the day, up by 126.10 points. Sensex ended the day, up by 491.01 points. Top Gainers today were State Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Axis Bank. Top Losers today were Hindalco, L&T, JSW Steel.
Among broad market indicies, Nifty Small Cap 50 and Nifty Microcap 250 indices ended the day in red. All other broad market indicies ended the day in green. Among sectoral indices, Nifty Metal index, Nifty Media Index and Nifty Realty Index ended the day in red. All other sectoral indicies ended the day in green. Nifty Bank Index saw the maximum gain during the day, with increase of 1.56%. Banking stocks saw strong buying demand today. Metal stocks saw more selling today. 41 stocks touched their 52 week high today. 66 stocks touched their 52 week low.
