Markets see a topsy-turvy day

Indian equity markets saw a topsy-turvy day.  After starting the day in Green, markets started falling. In the afternoon session, they started rising again. After 3 p.m., in the last one hour, the rise was steep. Nifty 50 ended the day, up by 90.60 points. Sensex ended the day, up by 248.84 points. Top Gainers today were ONGC, Power Grid and ICICI Bank. Top Losers today were  HDFC Life, Grasim and Cipla. 

Large cap stocks today saw more buying demand than small cap and mid cap stocks. Banking stocks and Oil & Gas stocks saw buying demand today. FMCG stocks and Media stocks saw some selling pressure. Realty stocks also saw selling pressure. At NSE, 71 stocks touched their 52-week high today. 30 stocks touched their 52-week low. RVNL, Yes Bank, Zomato, Idea etc were among stocks that saw very high trading volumes.
